Hillcrest loves the middle school student!  They are in that transitional age between elementary and high school and are often working to establish their own identity.  It is our hope that we can connect to kids where they are now, while they are finding out who they are!  Their enthusiasm, energy and endless questions make for fun and meaningful times together.  Our goal is to be biblical, devotional, missional, and connectional in all of our programs and that what kids experience at church will overflow into their lives.  We consider it a privilege of coming alongside your family during these middle school years.

Nate Severson is the Middle School Pastor at Hillcrest and has been serving there for more than 14 years.

“I love my family like nothing else on this side of eternity.  I enjoy playing and watching any and all sports.  I once tried out to be a professional sports mascot.  I think middle school ministry is the hidden jewel of the church.  Books that have shaped me are The Bible, Dangerous Wonder, Wooden and The Ragamuffin Gospel.  In 30 years I hope all of what I just wrote is still true and then some.”
